Roger Tory Peterson

Roger Tory Peterson, born in 1908, was an American naturalist who illustrated the natural world, and all of the life inhabiting it, and released it to the public in the 20th century. He recorded and published his work, focusing on plants and birds, during his long career, dating back to a nature study in 7th grade. In 1984, the Roger Tory Peterson Institute was opened in his home town of Jamestown, NY where he served as president until he passed away in 1996.
